When you engage professional movers for a corporate transition, you are investing in a turnkey solution designed to handle every aspect of the physical move. The scope of work goes far beyond transporting boxes; it encompasses the complete lifecycle of the transition from the current workspace to the new facility.
Commercial Packing and Inventory
The safety of business assets begins with professional packing. Corporate moves require industrial-grade packing materials and techniques different from residential moves.
File Integrity: We maintain the exact order of filing systems, libraries, and archives to ensure that sensitive documents remain organized and compliant during transport.
Asset Tagging: A rigorous inventory system is implemented. Every workstation, chair, and peripheral is tagged and labeled to ensure it arrives at the correct location in the new floor plan.
Crating Services: High-value items, artwork, or specialized machinery are secured in custom-built crates to prevent damage during transit.
Systems Furniture Disassembly and Reassembly
Modular furniture, cubicles, and conference tables often require specific tools and expertise to dismantle and rebuild.
Cubicle Configuration: Our teams are trained to disassemble major brands of office furniture and reassemble them according to the new office layout.
IT Disconnect and Reconnect: We coordinate with your IT department to safely disconnect workstations, wrap monitors, and bag peripherals, ensuring that technology is ready for your team to plug in and power up upon arrival.
Building Protection
Commercial leases often have strict requirements regarding damage to the facility during a move.
Surface Protection: We install Masonite on floors, corner guards on walls, and padding in elevators to prevent scuffs, scratches, or structural damage to both the origin and destination buildings.
COI Provision: Most commercial property managers in the Seattle area require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) before allowing a move to commence. We provide this documentation promptly to satisfy building management requirements.
The Logistics Process: How We Execute Your Move
A successful corporate relocation is the result of detailed backward planning. We start with your desired "go-live" date and build a schedule that accounts for every variable.
Pre-Move Consultation and Strategy
The process begins with an on-site or virtual walkthrough to assess the volume of inventory and access conditions. Request a free estimate.
Site Assessment: We evaluate loading docks, freight elevator dimensions, and parking restrictions to determine the necessary equipment and crew size.
Timeline Creation: We develop a phased moving plan. This might involve moving non-essential departments first or executing the entire move over a weekend to avoid business hour interruptions.
Employee Preparation
Communication with your staff is vital for a smooth transition.
Packing Guides: We provide instructions and materials for employees to pack their personal desk items, while our team handles common areas and equipment.
Labeling Systems: A color-coded or alpha-numeric labeling system is established so that every box lands in the exact office or zone it belongs to at the new location.
The Physical Move
On moving day, the focus is on efficiency and safety.
Rolling Carts and Library Tygers: We utilize specialized commercial moving equipment like rolling library carts (spiders) which allow us to move entire shelves of files without unpacking them, saving hours of labor.
Chain of Custody: For sensitive equipment or data centers, we maintain a strict chain of custody to ensure security throughout the transport.
Placement and Setup: Upon arrival, items are not just dropped off; they are placed according to the pre-arranged floor plan. We remove all packing debris, shrink wrap, and tape, leaving your new office clean and ready for work.
Professional Move Management vs. Internal Coordination
Business owners often debate whether to handle portions of the move internally or to outsource the entire project. While utilizing internal staff may seem like a cost-saving measure, the hidden costs of downtime and potential liability often outweigh the perceived savings.
Risk Mitigation and Liability
Asking employees to move heavy furniture or equipment creates significant liability issues.
Worker’s Compensation: If an employee is injured while lifting a box or moving a desk, it becomes a worker's compensation claim. Professional movers are fully insured and trained in lifting techniques, transferring that risk away from your company.
Asset Protection: Professional movers carry cargo and liability insurance. If a monitor is dropped or a wall is damaged by your staff, the cost comes out of your pocket. When we handle it, you are covered.
Speed and Efficiency
Time is the most critical resource during a relocation.
Throughput: A professional crew can move an office in a fraction of the time it takes an inexperienced internal team. Movher utilizes efficient workflows that keep the move engaging and fast-paced, ensuring you meet lease exit deadlines.
Focus on Core Business: Your employees are paid to perform their specific job functions, not to be movers. allowing them to focus on their work while we handle the logistics ensures your revenue-generating activities continue without interruption.
Specialized Equipment
Commercial moves require more than a rental truck and a dolly.
Heavy Hauling: Safes, plotters, and server racks require hydraulic lifts and heavy-duty dollies that generally aren't available to the general public.
Truck Fleet: We maintain a fleet of trucks capable of handling large volumes, reducing the number of trips required and speeding up the overall process.
Navigating Local Regulations and Environment
Operating in the Pacific Northwest presents unique challenges that must be factored into the relocation plan. From municipal codes to weather patterns, local knowledge is essential for a delay-free move.
Parking and Permits
Seattle has strict parking enforcement, particularly in dense commercial districts like Downtown, South Lake Union, and Pioneer Square.
SDOT Permits: Securing legal parking for large moving trucks often requires permits from the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT). We handle the application and posting of "No Parking" signs to reserve the necessary curb space.
Loading Zones: Many buildings have specific loading dock hours or restrictions on when freight elevators can be used. We coordinate directly with building management to adhere to these windows, avoiding fines or lockouts.
Weather Preparedness
The local climate is wet for a significant portion of the year, and rain protection is non-negotiable.
Moisture Barriers: We use plastic wrap and waterproof bins to protect electronics and files from precipitation during the loading and unloading process.
Floor Protection: Wet boots can damage office carpeting or hardwood. We lay down neoprene runners and adhere to strict protocols to keep the interior of your new office dry and clean.
Traffic and Terrain
Navigating the region’s topography and traffic patterns impacts scheduling.
Route Planning: We plan travel routes to avoid major congestion points during peak hours, ensuring our trucks arrive on schedule.
Hill Management: Many office locations are situated on steep grades. Our drivers are experienced in maneuvering heavy vehicles on inclines, using wheel chocks and lift gates safely in challenging terrain.

We had received an estimate from Movher and decided to try a less expensive option. When the other company totally botched it and was unprepared for our move, we called Movher and told them we had a moving emergency. They were able to round up a crew on the same day and they did an excellent job getting us packed out and moved. They are definitely worth the cost. Very professional and quality work. We will use them again for our moving needs in the future.

From beginning to end: getting the quote to the actual move (moving large and small furniture to final locations) each person I interact with was kind, upbeat and helpful! The movers were quicker than quoted! Incredibly helpful and respectful of the space!! The admin team who got me the quote and set everything up were incredible!! Would highly recommend and use MovHer for any and all moving these moving forward!

A mandatory move, as we were changing companies. We had used Moveher before, always with excellent service. But we thought it was very expensive this time, so we hired a lesser cost company. That company no-showed us. Complete chaos. We called Moveher and on a Saturday, after rejecting their bid, in a matter of hours, they were able to call in an emergency crew that solved all our problems with excellence. Friendly, professional, excellent service! We will never doubt them again!

Wonderful experience moving with MovHer! They were very professional and super helpful every step of the way. We had a 4 bedroom house, garage and shed to move in two days and they did a great job and put everything in the correct rooms. Went above and beyond to help with anything we needed and even came up with a great idea for how to move a Lego Eiffel Tower without breaking it. Very happy and would recommend to anyone!

Prompt, courteous, and professional! We've had others move us in town and across country - so we are always skeptical and expecting the worst experience. NOT this time. From the first contact we knew we made the right choice. The help was the best -- took the stress out of a move like no other we've had. They even took time to get to know us and share about themselves. I would recommend this company to anyone. You are paying for something beyond just service. They care.
